About

In recent months, the possibility of contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life has taken on a renewed public interest. Prior to this, evidence was often anecdotal and taken by faith alone.

But this time, credibility is at the very center of the discussion. With institutions like Harvard University and the Smithsonian Institution spearheading recent findings, it's time that we take a serious look again at our place in the universe.

Harvard's Prof. Avi Loeb, Chair of Harvard's Department of Astronomy, will discuss his recent findings on FRBs -- fast radio bursts that have been detected which have a seemingly organized pattern and no natural source of explanation.

Could FRBs be the first testable evidence for highly advanced extraterrestrial life? Professor Loeb suggests this may be the case and argues that these FRBs could be the result of a mega-structure, such as an alien probe traveling through space.

For more information on what we can expect to learn at this exciting event refer to this March 2017 Harvard press release:  https://www.cfa.harvard.edu/ news/2017-09).

In addition to FRBs, Professor Loeb will discuss the Breakthrough Starshot Initiative (http://www. breakthroughinitiatives.org/ About) and touch on his dedicated work on Black Holes with The Black Hole Initiative (https://bhi.fas.harvard.edu)
